    App Does not work with iPad The latest app does not allow one to watch a program if you are using an iPad. The program refuses to load instead the circle spins indefinitely. I have been working with customer service for three days to try and resolve this. They do not help. BritBox does not refund money if you pay ahead of time. So basically you are paying for a service you cannot use. It is too bad because the quality of the programs is high. Sounds like a good case for the Better Business Bureau.

    Great TV, great app!! I have been a fan of British TV forever! This app has allowed me not only to watch what was on my local PBS but all sorts of other movies and British television series. When I have had issues with the app, I’ve message BritBox through Facebook‘s messenger and I’ve heard back from them every single time! So although it may not run perfectly all the time, as no app does, it runs really well almost all of the time.

    Great content, poor technology While I love the shows offered, the rewind function fails 50% of the time. Its frightfully frustrating when I try to go back and finish a show I’ve already started watching. On a few occasions the episode was never able to reload. However, I muddle through for love of British TV.

    Bad programmers They will tell you it is the version of you Device; however, I have no problems with Prime, Netflix, Acorn or PBS. Just BritBox. They have inferior programmers!!

    Disappointment I was looking forward to enjoying the programs but the technical malfunctions ruin every show. Do your techs read any of these complaints and work on correcting them? Glad I decided to subscribe monthly instead of annually so I can cancel prior to the next billing cycle.

    Pretty bad layout By far the buggiest of all my streaming apps. I also don’t what the point of the watchlist is because I have to constantly wade through the episode to find where I left off.

    Very poorly organized application with too many bugs! First week Britbox worked wonderfully. It was easy to watch a few episodes of a series, turn in for the evening, then pick up where we left off. Now the app either crashes on re-opening or goes back to the Home screen making us search our way back to where we left off. Total rubbish. If this continues we will cancel subscription. Beware!

    Subtitles The subtitles keep showing up even when I turn them off. The app interface is really buggy and slow-loading. It's a chore to navigate this app.

    Ever since app reboot, ipad app’s a disaster. Plenty of glitches in this app. No landscape view—that is definitely annoying. It frequently leaves me with a black screen so I have to turn my iPad completely off, start over again, and pray the app doesn’t go black screen again. If you have to exit the app for more than a minute, the screen reverts to intro screen. It also frequently can’t play the video I want and asks me to try later. Very frustrating, especially since Britbox is my favorite program service.

    App could work better! Please Improve functionality BritBox has great content but the app functionality leaves a lot to be desired. Developers could learn a lot from Netflix! App doesn’t show current or most recent watched episode correctly. Every time I go back into the app it starts the wrong episode from the beginning (the last one I watched) and when I go back to look at the history the app tells me that or more past episodes - I can “continue watching” when in fact they were all watched in full beginning to end so I have to fumble around to try to figure out where I actually left off! For As Time Goes By you have to watch the intro and ending credits every single time, trying to use the 10 seconds skip ahead works a bit but, clearly a skip credits button would be much helpful! For $6.99/ month, especially compared to similarly priced streaming services, I expect more.

    Refund, please! Worse than quirky, it’s not functional. Owned for a month and I have yet to be successful viewing a show on my iPad (with current IOS). Refuses to orient to horizontal mode. Requires me to sign in each and every time. I always give up after five minutes of waiting for a program to load, although my Wifi system works well with all other video apps. I’m furious.

    App is absolutely crap The BB app is the worst user interface who designed and tested this app? TV selection is okay although I expected more from the big guns BBC + ITV, for the price I can not complain. Someone go to Hulu or Netflix and see how it should be done. After all I am the paying consumer

    New app doesn't work AND STILL DOES NOT WORK. Black screen on ipad. Get with it, BritBox This stinks. If I could leave NO STARS I would. New app won't play on iPad; nor Chromecast. Screen doesn't rotate on menu; shows display awkwardly. No issues with old app. Hasn't work for weeks ... if not fixed this week, I will cancel after not being able to use.

    Great content. Useless, horribly buggy app. Do NOT get the app. Do an Amazon or Apple TV add on instead.This app is is an insult to the software development community. Whoever is in charge of QA should seriously consider a career in basketweaving instead. App will freeze and/or crash on a daily basis. Navigation is confusing at best and can only be done in portrait mode. Does not remember which episode you watched last. Content is great, but it is so painful to have to use this crappy app to get to it.

    Fantastic! Don’t listen to the negative reviews, this is the best way to enjoy BritBox! Way better interface than the Prime Video version and without the Red Dwarf lip sync issues that the Apple TV channel has. And to top it off they listen to customer feedback!

    Fantastic! The latest release has rendered the app USELESS on both Android and iOs mobile devices. Major complaintS: * The home page does NOT rotate to fit the orientation of the device screen. I'm sure some UX diva knows how one should hold / position devices to watch a TV show much better than everybody who actually watches TV show, movies etc on a mobile device. * It is counter intuitive, and a royal PITA to have to rotate a device from portrait to landscape orientation the app is started. * Navigation has taken a major step backward. Who in their right mind decided to change the A-Z feature from presenting dot with symbols on that linked to shows etc. with names beginning with that symbol. Surely it doesn't take a genius to figure out that when a user wants to see a show named "Waking the dead" it's not a good user experience to hav to scroll through all the othe shows available. * Biggest botch, The Search feature. Once the show you want to watch is displayed Try to find an episode. The app no longer presents links to seasons. Without the links to seasons there are no links to episodes.

    New App deserves ZERO stars. I don’t know who thought this new design was a winner for BritBox but it’s a total clunker for users. The design is neither clean nor intuitive - it is in fact a total disaster. And who was the genius that decided you would force users to navigate this app in portrait mode only - even though your content is best viewed in landscape mode? Back in November you stated a new design would be delivered soon. You promised it would allow us to navigate and view content all in landscape mode. Remember that promise? Well, it’s February and while there have been updates, we are still forced to twist our iPads like we are clearing an Etch a Sketch just to view and navigate your content. Why?

    Font size Can’t get it to work on iPad. Been like this for almost a month. 2 strikes—can’t read CC (font too small) and won’t connect on iPad to mirror with Apple TV. Hate to leave it, but Please, puleeze, please make the largest font choice larger! I watch BritBox and AcornTV 97% of my television watching. I need the closed caption! Ready to cancel.

    App constantly crashes or won’t load About 70% of the time I try to use this app, it’ll either crash while I’m browsing for the show I want or it’ll just display a “loading” screen forever and never take me to the content. 2/5 stars because when it WORKS it’s good, but it’s very frustrating to use... I just want to watch classic Doctor Who, and this is the only streaming service that has it.

    App Leaves a Lot to be Desired While BritBox itself is great the app is not. Frequently it doesn’t load properly and logs me out while using the app forcing me to sign in and generally is just difficult. A better app experience would significantly increase my overall satisfaction with BritBox itself. Having to work so hard to watch something just doesn’t make sense.

    Buyer Beware Certain series start out free but charge you an additional fee for the last episode. During a mystery series this can come off as extremely predatory and opportunistic. There is no mention of this fee anyway in the series description. Very disappointing, poor business practice and we are reconsidering the service.

    We hate the update! BritBox has great shows, and we always look forward to binge watching different series. Why did you have to update the app and make is so very unfriendly to users? It’s a challenge to find the “cast” button and the closed-captioning features now. It also turns sideways on iPads, which makes it difficult to search when using a Bluetooth keypad. PLEASE FIX THE UPDATE!

    Horrible The app worked long enough for me to get my credit card number entered and then just suddenly quit working. Just gives me an error message when I try to use it. I have already cancelled my subscription.

    Frustrating and disappointing Got it for Doctor Who and mysteries and biggest mystery is the number of blank screens, freezes , times you have to reinstall and only partial series. Ie New Tricks only has first 6 seasons but for the rest you have to go elsewhere.

    App Shows Only in Portrait Mode This latest update with the app showing only in portrait mode and only shifting to landscape when you start the video is a load of bollocks. I liked watching in bed with my iPad plugged in and sitting on a tray. Now that you have to use the app in portrait mode, the plug makes it unable to use this way. So I am giving this app a single star. (I would give it no stars if I could.) Once the issue has been corrected, I will correct the review back to the 5 stars it originally deserved. And if this never gets fixed, I will not be renewing.

    What happened?! Britbox app used to work just fine on my iPad. Now the landing and browsing screens only display in portrait layout, then the whole thing does a rotation after I click an item, which now often never loads. You are supposed to improve the product with new releases, not make it worse.

    What is going on with this app? I want to love BritBox so much. When it works, I love the shows...so much better that our American fake looking actors. BUT, the app constantly crashes, needs to be shut down and restarted, then it says not available in my country...after I have been paying and watching for months! Ugh. Please fix this app and make it up to speed with the 2021. It’s like an app from my first iPhone in 2008.

    Doesn’t work well with Chromecast This app doesn’t always show my chromecast on my iPhone. On my computer it does work but the picture and sound are horrible.

    All the best TV for anglophiles I love this app! It has the best British TV, works well on my Samsung TV, iPad, and iPhone. The price is right and the library is extensive. Out of all my streaming services, Britbox is my favorite — hands down.

    Sinking For the last year this has been great. Then they change the Home menu, making it difficult to find different series. This will be the last time. Good programming your “IT” staff receive a grade of “F”. More than failure! The first year I had no problems. Since December 2020, this app crashes at east every other day. Sad to say, when my subscription ends, I will not renew. That is sad because I watch Britbox 95% of the time. Just keeps getting worse. “IT” for Britbox is not doing their job. Just like everything in life, people don’t care anymore, but full of “Lip Service”!

    Newest version is not an improvement This latest version is horrible to use on the ipad. Homescreen will not rotate and search function is very inconvenient to use. It needs to rotate WHEN you open the app, not just when video starts. Please issue another update and corrections soon - just about too annoying to use when used to previous versions - this new format is NOT an improvement. I am considering just canceling and looking for content elsewhere.

    Stopped working I downloaded this app yesterday to specifically watch Red Dwarf and now the app will not work on my iPhone or my tv. I was willing to pay for the app after the 7 day free trial but 2 days in and it quit working. If it doesn’t work soon, I will be canceling and deleting!

    Varied results Some good content but too many decades old shows that quite frankly haven’t aged well. Still the price point is fine, but how about testing your app before releasing it. Seriously I’d be embarrassed given the errors I and other reviewers encounter.

    Love BB, not so much the App. Britbox is wonderful on my television, and iPhone SE via the app., but I've been disappointed in its performance on my iPad. I sought help from their tech department to no avail. After the January update, I got audio only. I miss being about to get a lunch time fix of Britbox.
